On a sunny spring day in Cheltenham, Ruardean faced off against a strong Southside Tigers team. The Tigers boasted a 100% record in the playoffs and needed a victory to secure promotion; any other result would hand the promotion to Cinderford. After a cautious start, Ruardean seized control of the match, putting pressure on the Tigers defence, leading to a series of throw-ins and corners. The breakthrough came mid way through the first half, a quick break from a rare Tigers attack ended with Levi crossing into Leo for a calm side foot finish. With the lead, Ruardean pushed for another goal, which arrived just before halftime. Alfie's excellent corner was flicked on by Arthur, allowing Charlie to tap it in. The Tigers came out strong in the second half, attempting to create opportunities, but their best chances —a long ball to their quick strikers—was thwarted by our solid defence, limiting them to just one long-range shot throughout the entire match. Our third goal came when Arthur chased down a spilled shot and crossed it to Cole, who sealed the victory, bringing our season total to 116 league goals. Ruardean have won the League with two games to spare! A massive effort from all the players!
